Permanent Exterior Lighting Installed in Saratoga Springs
Our crew sets permanent lights into a slim track along your roofline. By day it fades into the trim, and after dark it lights up the outside of your home. Color, brightness and schedules all run from an app, so nobody has to haul out a ladder every December.

Lighting that stays up and looks after the house
Permanent lighting replaces the yearly routine of clips, extension cords and tangled strands. We mount a low-profile aluminum track under the drip edge or along the fascia, color-matched to your trim, and seat individually addressable LEDs inside it. From the street during the day it reads as part of the house. After dark it can be warm white for everyday curb appeal, team colors for a game night or a full holiday display.
We plan each install around the long life of what is already on your home. Fasteners go into solid fascia board, not into shingles or the face of the gutter. Wire runs are kept tight and tucked so snow and ice slide past rather than catch. The goal is a system you can leave alone for years while your roofline stays exactly as sound as it was the day before we arrived.
What the installation includes
A walk-around and lighting plan
We look at every run of roofline, note the trim color and check the fascia for soft spots. You get a clear layout of where track goes, where it turns corners and where the power connection sits.
Color-matched, low-profile track
The channel is chosen to match your trim so the lights disappear in daylight. It also shields the LEDs from direct sun, rain and snow load.
Careful mounting
Track is screwed into solid wood with stainless hardware and sealed at each penetration. Nothing is fastened through roofing material.
Clean power connection
We tie the system into an existing exterior outlet or an agreed power point and route the low-voltage lead neatly along the house, out of sight where possible.
Controller pairing and app lesson
Once the lights are working, we pair the controller with your home network and save a handful of nightly scenes and seasonal patterns. Then we sit down with your phone and show you how scheduling works, so changes later take seconds.
When permanent lighting is the right call
Holiday lights are a yearly chore
If putting strands up and taking them down eats a weekend twice a year, a permanent system ends that cycle for good.
Clips have marked up your trim
Plastic clips and staples leave holes, scuffs and loose shingle tabs over time. A single mounted track stops that repeated wear.
Your entry and driveway feel dark
Soft downlighting along the eaves makes paths and steps easier to see on long winter evenings without harsh floodlights.
You want curb appeal every month
Permanent lighting isn't only for December. Warm white accents through the year give the home exterior a finished look after sunset.
Ladder work no longer feels safe
Second-story eaves and steep pitches are no place to balance with a staple gun. Once installed, everything runs from the ground through the app.
How a job day runs
- 1
Quote by phone and a site visit
You call for a free quote and we schedule a time to measure the roofline, confirm power and walk you through options. You receive a written estimate that lists each part of the job.
- 2
Prep and protection
On install day we set ladders on pads, keep landscaping clear and check each fascia section again before any fastener goes in.
- 3
Track, lights and power
We mount the track, seat the LEDs, seal penetrations and connect power. Most single-family homes are finished in a day, though larger or complex rooflines may take longer.
- 4
Testing and handoff
After dusk we run every zone, check for even color and adjust brightness. Then we set up the app with you and pick up every scrap of packaging and trimmed wire before leaving.
What changes the total
Each home gets a price built from its own measurements, so you won't find a flat rate on this page. The written estimate breaks the cost into parts and explains each one. Below are the things that swing the number most.
- Length of roofline lit
- The biggest factor is how many feet of roofline you want lit. Plenty of owners begin with the front and light the sides later.
- Roof slope and height
- Steep slopes, eaves two or three stories up and hard-to-reach spots over decks or shrubs need more equipment and more setup time.
- Corners, peaks and gables
- Each place the roofline changes direction needs a fitted joint so the track looks like one continuous line. More dormers and valleys mean more cutting and fitting.
- Trim soundness and power access
- Rotted trim has to be addressed before track goes on it, and we send photos of anything we spot. Without a convenient outdoor outlet, an electrician may have to add a power point.
Questions about permanent lighting
Something not covered here? (518) 757-9353
Will the track damage my roof or gutters?
No. We fasten into solid fascia board and seal every screw hole, and we never drill through shingles or the gutter face. If your gutters ever need to come off for repair, the track is mounted independently and stays in place.
How do the lights hold up through winter?
The LEDs are sealed and rated for outdoor use in freezing temperatures, and the track shields them from direct snow and ice. Our cold, snowy months are exactly the conditions we plan the mounting around. A quick look each spring is usually all the upkeep they need.
Can I see the lights during the day?
Very little. The track is color-matched to your trim and sits tight under the eave, so most neighbors only notice it once the lights come on.
What can I control from the app?
You can change colors, brightness and patterns, light individual zones and set schedules tied to sunset. Many owners run a soft warm white most nights and switch to holiday scenes a few times a year.
How much electricity does it use?
Very little. LEDs draw a small fraction of what older incandescent strands did, and scheduling means the lights are only on when you want them.
