ServicesGutter Care
Gutter Cleaning and Upkeep in Saratoga Springs
Our crew empties your gutters by hand, runs water through each downspout and checks the hangers and seams along the way. When gutters drain freely, water stays off the fascia, siding and foundation, and the roofline can go decades without early repairs.

Upkeep that protects the whole roofline
A gutter only does its job when water can run freely to the downspout. Leaves, needles, shingle grit and seed pods settle into a wet mat that holds moisture against the metal and the fascia board behind it. Over a few seasons that mat adds weight, loosens hangers and lets water spill where it should not.
We treat gutter clearing as regular care, not a rescue. We empty the troughs, confirm the water drains and tell you plainly what we noticed along the edge of the roof. If your house also carries permanent lighting on the roofline, gutters that drain properly keep the fascia it mounts to dry and solid.
What a visit includes
- Hand removal of debris
- We scoop the troughs by hand and bag what comes out. Nothing is blown onto your beds, deck or driveway.
- Downspout flushing
- Each downspout is run with water from the top to confirm it drains. Packed elbows are cleared so the next storm has somewhere to go.
- Hanger and seam check
- We look for loose hangers, sagging runs and seams that have started to drip. You hear about anything we find, with photos, before any repair is discussed.
- Fascia and drip edge look
- Soft or stained fascia is often the first sign of a long-running overflow. We point it out early, while it is still a small fix.
- Ground-level cleanup
- Before we leave we walk the perimeter and pick up anything that fell. The yard should look the way it did when we arrived.
When your gutters need attention
Rain pouring over the front lip
When a storm sends water over the outer edge rather than toward the downspout, debris is holding up the flow somewhere along the run.
Plants taking root up top
Seedlings and moss tell you there is enough damp soil in the trough to feed them. Both add weight and keep the metal wet.
A run that dips or pulls loose
A section bowing between hangers is usually carrying more debris and water than it was built to hold.
Streaks below the gutter line
Dark marks on siding or trim show where overflow has been running down the wall. Given time, the wood underneath begins to soften.
Ice along the eaves
In a Saratoga Springs winter, blocked gutters hold meltwater that refreezes at the edge. Clearing them in late fall gives that water a way off the roof.
How the day goes
- 1
A look from the ground
We start at ground level, check where the ladders can go and ask you about any spots that overflow when it rains.
- 2
Ladders set with care
Stand-offs let each ladder lean on the roof instead of the gutter. We keep our gear off your plantings and walkways.
- 3
Clearing and flow checks
We scoop out each section by hand, then run water into every downspout and make sure it flows out cleanly at the bottom.
- 4
A plain recap
We give you a quick summary, with photos of anything that needs a look, like a leaking seam or a loose hanger. You are never pushed to have it fixed by us that day.

What sets the price
We quote each house based on its own roofline. Once you tell us about your home, we give you the number by phone and walk you through how we got there, so the day of the visit holds no surprises.
- Feet of gutter
- Longer gutter runs and extra downspouts mean more time spent clearing and testing.
- Stories and roof slope
- Steep roofs and houses with two or three stories need more careful setup and more time on the ladder.
- How compacted the gutters are
- Loose fall leaves come out fast. Gutters left alone for a few years hold dense, rooted buildup that takes longer to remove.
- Screens and gutter guards
- Guards have to be taken off and put back on, which adds a bit of time to every section.

How often should gutters be cleared?
Most houses do well with a visit in late fall, after the leaves are down, and another in spring once the seed pods drop. Homes under tall maples, oaks or pines may need a third visit. We can tell you what makes sense after seeing how much comes out the first time.
Do you need to be home while you work?
No. We work entirely outside, so as long as we can reach every side of the house you can be at work or away. We will share photos and a summary afterward.
Will ladders damage my gutters or roof?
We use stand-offs that rest the ladder against the roof surface rather than the gutter itself. That keeps weight off the troughs and avoids dents and bent hangers.
Can you work on gutters that have permanent lighting nearby?
Yes. We work around mounted lighting track on the fascia carefully and keep tools clear of the channel and wiring. Gutters that drain well also help protect the trim that holds the lights.
What happens if you find damage?
We show you photos and explain what we saw, whether it is a loose hanger or a soft section of fascia. You decide what to do next, with no pressure on the spot.
